Dear Friend, when was the last time you saw the sun rise.
I myself am not a morning person so I do not see it very often. The reverse could be argued that I am enough of a night person that I may see the sunrise. This could be true but as of recently it hasn’t been.
Please allow me to tell you that last time I saw a sunrise.
7:25 AM, 30,000 feet and descending, Orlando, Florida.
I got married in October 2024 to my partner of six years. Two days later we were in Orlando, ready to enjoy our time at the resort my best man worked at.
In the time leading up to it, we arrived way to early to the airport and spent too much time trying to figure out flight entertainment. I downloaded many animes and movies and eBooks that I would only spend about a third of the time enjoying. The rest of the time would be my sleep deprived sleep attempts that were occupied by the only white noise that thirty-thousand feet in the air can provide.
My partner sat in the window seat as we descended upon the previously hurricane-sullied locale and as we rose from our intoxifying <- (Not a word, but it should be) dreariness we looked to the horizon, the ocean in clear view.
The sun gently rising in the east, the plane lowering slowly. My partners sleep eyes glued to the horizon as I watched the sun rise and then watched them. Small moments like these are what I live for. With these I remember, it will be alright
