Dear Friend, day 2 of highlighting shows. I have an incredibly busy May this year and I’m prewriting some of these so I can keep a constant day to day print cycle. Today’s topic, the League of Legends show: Arcane. Just like last time, I will be talking about my favorite things that I like from the show, and for this one, I can’t think of bad things. This is the first of many Netflix shows.

I’ve played a fair hand of League I have to admit. Not my proudest achievement, but I’ve always been super into the lore of the game in its many iterations. This show being canon is huge to me. Now for the things that I love about it.

SPOILERS FOR ARCANE

The Arcs: just in general. From Powder to Jinx. Vi and her becoming a street fighter to rebel to cop. Ekko and his life’s trajectory. I love how it all comes to fruition

Ekko, my favorite character has the coolest episode in season two episode seven. Genuinely in my top three episodes of streaming ever. Ekko just in general as a character, as a Firefly and as a leader is such a striking character.

Season 2, Episode 7. Even if you haven’t seen any other part of the show. Better to view the whole show and then watch but still, watch it.

Singed and his quest to save his daughter, Orianna. Both are characters that I love and his creation of Warwick is amazing.

The final episode/ fight, losing my boy Loris in the end to just a measly one and down is heartless.

The voice acting. Ella Purnell and Hailee Steinfeld are amazing in their roles. This is the second time of me praising Mrs. Steinfeld and it will not be the last.

The little nods to champions that we don’t fully get to see or are visualized differently. Like Le Blanc, Janna, Teemo and Swain. Sad to see we couldn’t get my boy Urgot, Zac, Blitzcrank or any of the other really cool Zaun champs.
