Dear Friend. Welcome to the last day of posting about tv shows. It’s been a fun and busy week. A close friend is leaving soon and we went somewhere last night to enjoy ourselves one last time until fall. Last night was also DND and I plan on talking about that on Fridays to give me something nice and short and sweet to talk about.
You might be reading this thinking “huh I thought we were only gonna do animated shows.” You would be wrong. I waited for the third season to finish airing and a few months before I was even willing to give this series and shot and I’m so sorry it took me as long as it did. So with out further ado, my final day of tv shows: The Bear
SPOILERS AHEAD
I’d like to start this off by giving a personal experience. I have worked almost a decade in the food industry myself, from chain restaurants to the slightly upscale. I’ve worked as a dish washer, prep cook, porter and line cook. You’re talking to the salad cook of the Cheesecake Factory during Covid that got put on the station because they were having a problem with theft and knew I wouldn’t eat anything from the station. I’ve worked with teams as big as twenty people and just by myself for weeks on end. I met my partner working in the food industry and until really recently I had reentered it and was trying desperately to get back out of it again. Here is to never going back. When I say that this show was influential to me and made me feel heard (pun intended) ooh mama.
Favorite things about the show.
I think they land everything properly, from how they talk, to the hazing of Carmy and Sydney to how both kitchens run themselves from the original restaurant to the later one. The immersion is real and its large in part do to the shows executive producer Matty Matheson who I freaking adore. This is not me shorting the rest of the tremendous kitchen presence the show has but my highlighting person I’d like to address is Matty.
Neil Fak AKA Matty Matheson is the maintenance man for The Bear, also another job that I’ve had for nearly a decade. He sells me on his performance from his screams to his playful attitude.
Will Poulter, who I will be highlighting on soon is also a favorite of mine, I think giving that air of expertise to a personal fan favorite character of mine Marcus.
Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Both of them getting the fame they now deserve following the shows break. From Iron Claw to The Fantastic Four. The brother of original owner and best friend respectively.
Mini performances from Jon Bernthal, Joel McHale, Jamie Lee Curtis, Olivia Colman, John Cena, John Mulaney and Gillian Jacobs show how much people love the show and want to be apart of it.
Favorite episodes from each season. Season 1: Braciole, Season 2: Forks, Season 3: Napkins.
Dear Friend, I hope you’ve had as much fun this week as I have. I encourage you strongly to view these shows. Even just the little snippets I’ve mentioned and tell me how you liked them. If anything, I know you will be alright.
