Thoughts of AI and my associated disgust face are my general response to such a thing. This game which I recently just finished and am working on completing has an interesting technological development.

In this, AI have been given bodies and are called Lillim. In this, they are made to just merely exist, performing various purposes. They are coded to have beliefs, values, feelings and internal machinations like a sense of taste or smell. They don’t perform any inherent task and aren’t slaves to a machine but people.

Numerous Lillim inhabit the game, from a Pop Idol to sex-robot to dog lover(office worker). The first two are examples of things that we are already seeing in the real world, but less physically. AI in music has become prolific with me finding after further evaluation this very evening an album that I had enjoyed to be prompted. Pornography has been using AI more recently as well. With the idea of creating a perfect partner. The thing I don’t see being made right now is the office worker. Sure we have AI being made to assist with office duties, but I would much rather have these sort of tasked be outsourced first before we get art and sex work outsourced.

So I have two main thoughts. Humanity as a whole needs to focus AI innovations on things that genuinely provide a service that can be done faster and is monotonous. Like reordering an inventory list with effects on to projections and past sales. Obviously this needs to be tuned over time, and it may never be perfect but let people focus on this, not “re-creating” art. Let the menial things be outsourced not the creative.

My second thought is a little more out there. Humanize them, literally. Let’s give them emotions, bodies, thoughts and ideas. Let humanity be the compass and we can guide a better future, more inclusive. Then I say we can let the AI do whatever they want. People will still prefer what they want, but let the social experiment of creating life happen. I have a short story on this very idea, inspired by the game with thoughts of creating an artificial life. I hope that this one day sees the light of day.

Dear Friend, I am alright now, are you?
